Mission Statement

 

Athletic Mentors Youth Pathways (AMYP) is a non-profit organization designed to cater to the efforts of improving our youths' athletic abilities and academic achievements. With our guidance and diligent efforts, the youth have increased their overall abilities in these areas. As a result, they have proven their ability to successfully compete at any level while utilizing the tools our program offers.

 

Our primary commitment is fulfilling the needs of the youth in our community by serving and improving their educational, health and cultural well-being. Like the youth participants, our non-profit has overcome numerous strongholds and challenges in an effort to provide a substantial service to the community. Too often, programs are implemented professing to service our youth, only leaving the youth and community more desolate than upon arrival.

 

We have proven to our youth participants, parents, and community to be diametrically opposed to those inadequate programs by providing and strengthening the community with local professional trainers and mentors, knowledgeable staff members and volunteers, who themselves have dodged the pitfalls of their community by achieving personal success and fulfilling their promise to pay it forward to the upcoming youth.

 

Once our youth participants commit themselves to athletic achievement under AMYP tutelage, a host of responsibilities are sure to follow.

 

• First, academic improvement is critical to becoming a responsible member of society and a great athlete. AMYP requires youth to achieve and sustain an adequate grade point average academically in order to remain an active participant.

• Secondly, youth participants must adopt a healthy lifestyle. To ensure our youth gain and sustain exceptional performance, we educate and equip them with proper resources needed.

• Lastly, we expect our youth to maintain a responsible social/public persona within their culture and community. AMYP is devoted to teaching and cultivating a proper social and business etiquette, with the belief these attributes will mold our youth into outstanding athletes and productive members of society.
